How to Request Detention

Desktop Instructions

Navigate to the My Loads page

Click on the load you want to request detention on:

Note: Criteria to Request Detention

  1. You must submit within 24 hours of delivery.

  2. When uploading the POD/BOL, make sure to include the pickup/drop-off times.

  3. The user requesting detention MUST have Dispatcher or Owner/Operator privileges.

  4. A driver needs to be assigned to the load in order for the request to be generated.

  5. Detention can only be requested on a Transfix load.

When this criteria has been met, scroll down on the right side of the load window and click the "Request Detention" link:

You will be redirected to a form to begin the detention request:

  1. Click whether this request is for the pick-up and drop-off location.

Once clicked, you will be prompted to fill-in the rest of the detention request, when finished, click Submit Detention Request like below:

Keep an eye out for an email from Transfix notifying that your request has been submitted, and if approved, there will be another email confirming that the payment has been sent.

And that's it, The detention request is fully submitted! πŸŽ‰

Mobile Instructions

Navigate to the "My Loads" tab and click on the load you want to request detention for. Tap the three dots at the top right of your screen and then tap "Request Detention".

Ensure you meet all of the eligibility requirements, and hit "Continue"

Select the appointment where you experienced detention (pickup or dropoff) and then hit "Next".

Confirm the Check-in/ Check-out times and hit "Next"

Upload your Proof of delivery and hit "Next" (you can take a photo or choose from your library).

Your Detention Request has now been successfully submitted. A confirmation email will be sent within 30 minutes, an additional email will be sent once detention has been approved.

Detention Request Status

Curious about the status of your detention request? You can check on the status by navigating to the "My Loads" page, and tapping the load.

Right below the rate is the "Detention Status" this will list 3 possible statuses:

  • Pending

  • Approved

  • Declined
